Sunday School Ministry

Purpose statement: The Sunday School (SS) Ministry provides Christ-centered education for children and encourages them to receive their salvation through Jesus Christ (1 Cor 2:1-12). In discipling the children to grow and live their lives for God, we proclaim Christ to the children by teaching the Bible-based curriculum (Col 2:6-7) in close collaboration with their parents/guardians.

Ministry Profile

The SS team started with 20 co-workers teaching children aged 3 to 11 years old. 5 more teachers and helpers joined the team during the year, while 2 will stop in Jan 2025. We thank God for the new co-workers who have joined us and for those who have stepped down for another season of ministry. 

Since December 2021, the SS ministry has collaborated with the Youth ministry to transition our Primary 6 children to the Youth ministry. For several of the P6 children who have activities on Saturdays and could not join Youth Group, we had offered them the opportunity to stay in Sunday School. However, with the cut-off age at 11, most of the P6 viewed themselves as overaged for Sunday School. To ensure that the Primary 6 children do not fall through the cracks, we will implement the cut-off age back to 12 years old. They will be encouraged to participate in the Youth Group on Saturdays.

Weekly Session

There are Sunday School sessions on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays of each month. The Sunday School sessions take place from 11.30 am to 1.00 pm and would include worship, prayer and learning activities. On 1st Sundays, and during June and December school holidays, we encourage the entire family to attend the main service together.

Programme Highlights in 2024

The SS ministry organised a series of programmes that promote fellowship amongst the children and allow them to apply God’s word to life situations. Some of the programmes are as follows:
