Memorandum
of Understand - Use of Church Facilities |
|
A Memorandum of
Understand was signed on 19 November 1993 by the following parties
on the development and use of the Chapel Building:

hours. |

The Trustees of the Presbyterian
Church in Singapore, the lesse of the land (Trustees)
-
Board of Governors of the Kuo Chuan
Presbyterian Schools (BOG)
-
Living Praise Presbyterian Church (LPPC)

Salient Points of this
MOU are as follows: |
-
Development costs of
Chapel Building to be borne equally by BOG & LPPC
-
Schools will use the
Chapel during school term and hours (MOU, Para 6.1)
-
LPPC will use it at
weekends and after school hours for her ministries (MOU, Para 6.2)
-
A
Chapel Management Committee (CMC) will be formed comprising (MOU,
Para 5):
-
one
member from the Trustees
-
two
members from the BOG who are not members of LPPC
-
three
members from LPPC
-
the
Principals of the two Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Schools
-
Use of the chapel for
purposes other than for item (1) & (2) would be decided by the
CMC (MOU, Para 6.3)

The CMC has
subsequently adopted the following with respect to use of the
premises by others as follows: |
-
use for marriages
restricted to and only for members of Presbyterian Churches with a
supporting letter from their Church Pastor
-
use for marriages
restricted to and only for members of Presbyterian Churches with a
supporting letter from their Church Pastor
-
use for marriages by
Christian staff of the two schools and BOG members only subject to
it not being used by LPPC or the two schools. Charges as stated in
the application form (of LPPC) would be imposed.

LPPC has also
implemented the following with respect to use by their respective
ministries: |
-
bookings for use by
members for marriage subject to meeting requirements of the marriage
policy, at least 6 months in advance
-
bookings for use by
ministries to be endorsed by the Session member (Pastor and Elders)
overseeing the respective ministry
